Petals in the Light

Pillaged

Words
flicker in tandem,
lurk behind thoughts;
taunt,

obscured in sedation
elude my psyche,

held hostage
in the narrow passageway
adjacent to my heart,
absorbed into the abyss
that leads to sanity,

flutter away
like lavender butterflies
in search of nectar.
